Philanthropist, writer, and chairperson of Infosys Basis, Sudha Murthy, was felicitated with the Padma Bhushan award on Wednesday on the eve of 74th Republic Day. Murthy, who is understood for her social work and academic initiatives, is amongst 106 Padma awardees this 12 months. This 12 months’s record includes six Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan, and 91 Padma Shri awardees. And a complete of 19 girls have been finalised to obtain the Padma awards.
