New drone footage reveals the extent to which waste has stuffed the scenic River Drina within the Balkans.
Specialists say that together with common plastic waste, home goods together with fridges are additionally floating within the water.
It has been an issue for the river, which runs alongside a portion of the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, for 20 years.
The president of the environmental and conservation organisation Udruženje građana Eko Centar Visegrad, Dejan Furtula, mentioned: “It is a supply of nice embarrassment for all of us as we appear unable to resolve this situation for such a chronic interval.”
